Robby Goldman, President & Chapter Coordinator

He/Him/His//They/Them/Theirs

Robby is an NSF Graduate Research Fellow conducting research jointly at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the U.S. Geological Survey’s Cascades Volcano Observatory. Robby, who currently lives in Los Angeles, graduated in 2015 with a B.A. in Geology and minor in Physics from Pomona College in Claremont, CA. The following year, Robby completed his volcanology-focused Fulbright research fellowship in Christchurch, New Zealand. An avid advocate for science-based decision making, Robby is a member of the American Geophysical Union’s Voices for Science program and the Geological Society of America’s Geology and Public Policy Committee. Robby’s favorite games include Japanese- and Hawaiian-style Hanafuda (“flower cards”), the WWI strategy game Diplomacy, and the ever-popular Mario Kart. His favorite shows include Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, and The (wonderfully queer-positive) Dragon Prince.

Robby is President and Co-Founder of Prism’s U.S. West Coast Chapter, which strives to build a community of LGBTQ+ Fulbrighters across the states of California, Oregon and Washington.

Faith Brown, Chapter Leadership

She/Her/Hers

Born in West Virginia, Faith moved extensively up and down the east coast until recently settling down in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from the University of North Georgia with a B.A. in Communications, where she also conducted undergraduate research in the field of public relations. Faith received a Fulbright ETA grant to Bulgaria for both the 2017 and 2018 Academic Years. While there she not only taught English, but during her second year worked as the Assistant Director of the BEST foundation, an international educational nonprofit organization. Her work as an educator quickly turned into a passion for helping students achieve their goals, leading her into the world of academic advising. She currently works for the University of Utah as an Academic Advisor for the International and Area Studies programs. In her free time, she enjoys reading, kayaking, trying out new soup recipes, playing board games (Splendor is a favorite!), and pretending she knows how to sing and dance.
