Connor completed a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering, NUI Galway in 2020. His PhD research focused on the development of computational modelling tools to examine bioresorbable polymeric stents for the treatment of coronary artery disease. Connor undertook a National University of Ireland sponsored Fulbright Award to perform research at the Harvard-MIT Biomedical Engineering Centre, in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2016/17.
He is actively involved in the LGBTQ community in Galway, where he plays soccer with the local LGBTQ football team and is an active member of the running group. Connor was recently appointed to the Fulbright Ireland Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Panel, and he is the Fulbright Prism coordinator with the Irish Fulbright Alumni Association (IFAA).
The IFAA is a voluntary association of past and present participants in the Fulbright exchange programme operating between the USA and Ireland. It is a network of people who have been enriched by a significant educational experience and who come together, following their stay in the USA, to share both professionally and socially. As part of its overall mission, the IFAA aims to consolidate the Fulbright experience and offer alumni an opportunity to extend and build on that experience, and to establish links with other Fulbright Alumni Associations. The IFAA is proud to support the creation of Fulbright Prism Ireland and to play a part in supporting and engaging with our members.
